A lot of confusion arises around the subject of what is required to pass safety when car enthusiasts tackle, or are considering to tackle, a project. Also, another thing to remember is that once you deviate from original manufacturers equipment (OEM) parts and accessories, you fall into a new category of vehicles that is referred to as 'modified' and this is where the confusion and complexity grows exponentially.
